Sheldon Coopers GW150914 Gravitational Wave Shirt |
This shirt features the first gravitational wave ever detected by LIGO (
Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory), on September 14, 2015. The name given to the signal was GW150914. I've yet to find a tee
exactly like the one Sheldon is seen wearing here, but I did find another one from
GoatsTee.com that also features this historic signal. You can find it from the link below. And if I come across a more exact duplicate of Sheldon's, I'll be sure to toss that on here too.
Oh, and a big thanks to Rense for figuring out what the heck this t-shirt was referencing. My puny brain never woulda got it.

My guess would be some sort of seismic sound wave. Looks in shape a bit like http://eqseis.geosc.psu.edu/~cammon/HTML/Classes/IntroQuakes/Notes/Images_specific02/dispersed_wave.gif

Fantastic find! Incidentally, while looking it up I also found someone who was selling another previously unknown tee (Sheldon's Two Black Holes shirt). So it looks like you got two finds with one stone (or search? I dunno).
ReplyDeleteAnyway: Great job!
